The U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) has announced a $45.6 million investment in 24 research and education projects to advance semiconductor technologies, manufacturing, and workforce development. This initiative, part of the NSF's Future of Semiconductors (FuSe) program, is supported by a public-private partnership involving Ericsson, IBM, Intel, and Samsung. The goal is to train the next generation of talent in the semiconductor industry and promote innovation in materials, devices, and systems integration. The funding aligns with the "CHIPS and Science Act of 2022" and aims to strengthen the U.S.-based semiconductor workforce and knowledge base.
