MSE Graduate Fellowships

The School of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) awards several fellowships each year, in the form of one-time topping grants, to MSE graduate students. These awards are generally given to PhD students who have finished their core courses and passed their qualifying exam. Preference will be given to the students who have also defended their proposal successfully and have been admitted to PhD Candidacy.  Nominations for these fellowships are based students’ academic performance in coursework (have earned a grade point average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale) and research, thesis advisor’s recommendation, and/or as evidenced by involvement in community, co-curricular or extracurricular activities, as well as fostering MSE and GT values.  Exceptional MS students may also qualify for some of these awards.
