Undergraduate Scholarships & Research Awards

Scholarships

The School of Polymer, Textile & Fiber Engineering offers merit-based scholarships. Numerous Prestige, Partial Prestige, and General Scholarships are available to qualified students accepted into its undergraduate major, Polymer and Fiber Engineering. The scholarships are funded by the Georgia Textile Education Foundation, individual companies, and private contributors.

Eligibility

Scholarship applicants must be either a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, qualified for admission into the Georgia Institute of Technology, and committed to an undergraduate program of study in Polymer and Fiber Engineering. Applications and required supporting materials are reviewed by the Scholarship Committee to determine eligibility. A personal interview may be required to finalize selections. Recipients are notified of their award in writing.

Application

All students must submit their scholarship application along with supporting data by January 15 to be considered for the Prestige and Partial Prestige Scholarships. General Scholarships are accepted on a continuous basis; however, applications received by January 15 are given priority consideration. After January 15, awards for the subsequent academic year are contingent on the availability of funds. For more information, contact Leslie Schwartz, Enrollment Manager.

Undergraduate Research Awards

Georgia Tech offers several Institute-wide opportunities for part-time undergraduate research support during the academic year and full-time opportunities during summer programs. Financial support is given in the form of student salaries and travel to professional meetings. Interested students are encouraged to contact PTFE faculty and apply to programs such as the Presidential Undergraduate Research Awards (PURA).
