MSE Students from The MILL’s Science of Art Team Host Workshops on Making Glass Art for the Holidays
On two Friday nights, one in October and one in November, over 40 students from across campus gathered to learn about the intersections between science and art from their Materials Science and Engineering peers in the Materials Innovation and Learning Laboratory (MILL). At the events, students learned about the chemical and physical structure of glass and how it can be used to evoke certain artistic effects. Students then put this knowledge into action by creating their own piece of glass art. The MILL’s student-run Science of Art Learning and Discovery Team hosted these events to spread their passion for science and art to other students all across campus. These events were sponsored by a Creative Curricular Initiative grant from the Georgia Tech Office of the Arts.
