Prospective Graduate Students
Georgia Tech's School of Polymer, Textile & Fiber Engineering (PTFE) offers graduate degrees with a specialization in polymers to put you at the top of a growing field.
In Georgia Tech's PTFE Ph.D. program, you'll gain a strong background in polymer research and education with fundamental coursework in the chemistry, physics, and engineering of polymers for an exciting career in polymer science, research and quality control, and textile product and process development. Our graduates are hired by leading companies, government laboratories, and academic institutions.
PTFE graduate stipends are highly competitive. We currently offer stipends of $21,000 a year for Ph.D. candidates. Graduate research and teaching assistants pay reduced tuition and fees of $542 a semester and receive partial medical benefits. President's Fellowships may supplement assistantships awarded to outstanding applicants. Students with B.S. or M.S. degrees in Polymer Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Textile Engineering, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Biology, Physics, or related fields of science and engineering are encouraged to apply to the PTFE Ph.D. program. We also admit a limited number of students wishing to pursue M.S. degrees.
