Biography
Dr. Haskell W. Beckham's research program features applications of NMR spectroscopy and imaging to polymers and engineered fibrous substrates. Polymers of interest include those with cyclic and threaded architectures (i.e., polyrotaxanes) and new crosslinkable materials for membranes. Dr. Beckham is chair of the Users Advisory committee for the Georgia Tech NMR Center, containing NMR instrumentation for high-resolution liquids (500 MHz), wide-line solids (300 MHz), and NMR imaging (400 MHz).
Dr. Beckham received a NSF Research Initiation Award in 1994 and a NSF CAREER Award for his work concerning dynamics of solid polymers. Prior to his position at Georgia Tech, he was a Humbolt Scholar at the Max-Planck-Institut für Polymerforschung. Dr. Beckham also holds an adjunct position as Professor in the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry.
